Full Container Load (FCL)
FCL is a shipment that uses 1 container (or more) in full. That is, 1 container will only contain the goods you send, without being mixed with other party’s shipments.
FCL shipping is suitable for shipments in large quantities and will be faster than LCL, because the document processing process is simpler.
FCL shipments are also suitable for shipments of goods that are considered dangerous (dangerous goods) or goods that require special handling.
Low Container Load (LCL)
LCL is shipping, where the quantity/volume of goods to be sent is less to fill 1 container. This means that the goods to be sent will be mixed together with the goods belonging to other parties, so that it fills 1 container.
LCL shipping is suitable for small to medium quantity shipments. Shipping costs will be lighter, because the number / volume of goods to be sent is less than FCL.
LCL shipments generally take longer than LCL because they have to wait until the used container is full of other goods and document processing is more complex.
